Who got you started in BMX?: My brother was into motocross so he started taking me to the Bmx track, but it was actually my neighbor who got a flyer in the mail and a few weekends later who started.

What are you doing for school now?: I just started going to this Community College right by my house, like just started yesterday so we will see how this goes.

How's the riding scene in CO?: The summer is really good cause I ride at Dacono at least twice a week and theres another track called Longmont bmx just right down the road so usually ill hit up the double header and ride two tracks both days. For now its so snowy but we have an indoor track set up about once a month and its fun to go to.

Name one thing you like the most about racing BMX: The thing I love most about bmx is the progression and how at the age I am right now I really have to work hard and take it seriously if I want to compete with the elite riders. I also love the traveling, going to brazil was the first time ive ever left the county and I cant wait to do it again.

You won the ABA NAG 5 Challenge in 2006.. whats different about that race from the rest?: It was awesome this year. It wasn’t as hyped up as usual but the ABA does a great job bringing in prizes and lights and its just all an all a good show for the spectators. I love how the whole building is basically shut down for at hour for us to ride and then when everyone comes the lights go off and the fun begins. haha

How's the kicker system you won been treatin ya?: Oh its good, it rattles the mirrors on my little plastics scion xb haha

How did it feel to win the title for the second year in a row?: It felt waaayyy better the second time. I started off the year pretty rocky and to come back and work so hard for it it was amazing. I didn’t realize how much it ment to me until about half way through the season and that’s when I noticed I wanted it a lot more then I did the first time. Also the race was much better also, sitting on the gate for that main and there being 3 people having a shot at it, that made it fun.

At the 2005 ABA Grands you were in third place going into the last turn while JB was watching from the infield knowing you and Zurek were the only people who could take over the title so was pretty happy at the time seeing that Cisar beat Zurek and you were in the third spot.. what all happened that race? Haha: Haha I remember I didn’t have pads on my bike so I jetted to the answer tent and took some off some bike and just watched from so far away and when I saw joe mess up and steven come by him I got the chills. I was happy I won my race but I remember feeling that maybe someone else should be getting this cough cough jb.com. but its racing and I cant lie I did want that cup.

How long have you been with Answer crew? The same riders were on the Pro-Concept team too right?: I got on Answer in 6th grade, the next year it became Answer PC. I was the only answer rider that came over to the Answer PC team. Mikey Day and Paul Lang going with staats. Since the Answer PC split I believe I’m the only survivor now that Brabant, Fox, and Caluag are gone. Answer has done so much for me and made all my dreams come true I couldn’t ask for a better sponsor.

What are your plans for the olympics 2008?: Well I got my flight booked..just don’t know if ill be racing or not haha sike but I went to the usa cycling training center with all the pros just to see kinda how I matched up with them and I did really good but they had said they were looking for me to work with them but for possibly the 2012 games. We will see though

Are you planning any NBL races next year?: Yeah I’m for sure going to Boulder and we’ve talked about the Floridas and for sure Pontiac. I’m going to try to go to all of them

What made you decide to turn A Pro in Reno?: I wanted to turn last year but Brabant did so I stuck it out another year. This year I felt more ready then I ever would and it was just time. I need to make a name for myself in pro if I want to have any shot to go to China

You got your first pro win in Reno January 2006... what was in your head during the three mains?: Sunday I was good and my head was clear, Saturday was different though. In the first main I blew my gate cause I was nervous. After that I was good to go.

Name your top three competitors right now: Everyone has speed and for us rookies its all going to be whos consistant and whos not. Putting all that together I would say Joey Bradford, Joe szurek, and Warren Mcdow have what it takes.

What were some of the differences between racing AM and Pro?: Racing 3 mains and about 50% more laps on a daily basis. Its more physical and deffently harder to pass I think because everyone is so big.

Racing AA will be no joke... do you think you are mentally and physically ready for the AA Pro class?: Things are going to change big time. This year will be my first year working with a trainer, someone whos done this before and knows what it takes to win a pro title. It will take some time as it does for anyone who turns AA but I’m up for the challenge

What will be your next few races on your schedule?: Guthrie, Boulder, Las Cruses, and Phoenix

You went to your first UCI Worlds this year in Brazil.. what were your thoughts on that race?: I loved it. Its so cool racing people you see from other countries who have made names for themselves on the Uci world level. I felt like I had the speed to win but lack of expirence I think is what got me..and an outside gate…jb knows what I’m talking about haha.
