GT Bicycles ABA Nor Cal Nationals Race Report

05.13.07 -- Roseville, CA,
Attendance: 12,500
GT PARTICIPANTS:

Randy Stumpfhauser:
Day One: AA Pro: 5th (semi)
Day Two: AA Pro: 1st

Mike Day:
Day One: AA Pro: 7th (semi)
Day Two: AA Pro: 3rd
Pro Open: 8th

Joey Bradford:
Day One: A Pro: 1st
Day Two: A Pro: 1st Pro Open: 1st

Eric Rupe:
Day One: Vet Pro: 8th
Day Two: Vet Pro: 8th

Randy has been in a bit of a slump for the past few events and looked to make the ABA Nor Cal Nationals the weekend that the slump ends. As it turned out, on Saturday his slump continued as he BLAZED through the motos with huge leads, but couldn’t get past the semi finals. Come semi time, he got a bad gate start and found himself playing catch up. A fifth place at the line was all he could manage, as he would then have to watch the mains from the side lines. Sunday would be the day the slump would end. As usual, he smoked his way through the heats and was faced, yet again, with the dreaded “semi main”. He got an “okay” start and was third heading into the first turn. After a tangle up of some other riders, he was sitting pretty in a solid transfer spot and made the main event. Slump over! Now he could focus on the task at hand and worry about “winning” instead of just “making” the main. That’s exactly what he did, as he blistered the track and went on to finish with a 1-2-1 score for an impressive overall win. Nice job Stump!

Mike Day is by far one of THEE most talented and skilled riders in BMX. The Nor Cal Nationals track didn’t give him much of a chance to showcase those skills, but that didn’t stop him from giving the fans a good show. He was passing guys left and right as he made the AA Pro semi on Saturday. In that semi, he was running in fifth heading into the last turn with only one real shot at making a pass for fourth. Not being a dirty rider, he chose not to blast Bubba Harris (Redline) over the last turn, which would mean that Mike would have to watch the mains with Stumpy, from the side lines. On Sunday Mike would make up for it by making the main by riding smart and consistent. In the three mains, he finished with a 4-4-3 that earned him a well deserved third place overall for the day and a place on the podium. Good job Mike.

Joey Bradford has been recovering from a lower back injury he suffered at the Winter Nationals a couple of months ago, but now looks like he is 100%. He smoked everyone in almost every lap this weekend of the A-Pro class INCLUDING the main events. He went on to finish 1-1-1 in those mains both Saturday AND Sunday. Congratulations Joey you are now officially the newest member of the AA Pro class. If you are wondering how Joey will do in that class, a good measure might be of how well he did in the Pro Open class on Sunday at the Nor Cal Nationals. After making the main and being the only single A Pro in it, he had an awesome start, blazed the first straight, was first into turn one and never looked back. He looked like he’d been there before and wasn’t afraid to take it to the other AA Pros. He’s gonna make a fine AA Pro. Good job Joey.

Big Daddy Rupe was looking and feeling good during practice on Friday. He was riding the new UB2 prototype carbon frame and was sure getting lots of compliments on it from the fans as well as the competition. Come Saturday morning though, he was suffering from a strain in his lower back that would subsequently cause him to ride mid pack most of the weekend. He managed to dig deep enough to qualify for the Vet Pro mains each day, but it was all he could do just to ride the track and keep up with the pack. Not a great showing for the winningest Vet Pro of all time, but being in the finals each day is no easy task in the Vet class.

BMX Race Report ABA Nor-Cal Nationals Roseville, CA May 12-13

Round 6 of the 2007 ABA Pro Series was this past weekend in Roseville, CA. Traditionally one of the tracks with some of the best racing on the ABA West Coast Nationals, it once again gave the fans a lot to cheer about. A great weekend of racing and weather made for one awesome event and the Double A Marketing Pros were once again at the top of the Podium. Here is how they finished up.

Randy Stumpfhauser has the lead in the ABA Pro Points and he was looking to build to it. On Sunday, he did just that, as he won the AA Pro Class, grabbing another win in AA. Randy is after the only US Pro title he has not won, and by the looks of it so far, he is well on his way to his first ABA #1 Pro title. Randy's sponsors include GT Bicycles, Kenda, SINZ Racing, ODI, Tangent, Sun Rims, Bombshell, Fly Racing, Powerbar, CTI Knee Braces, OGIO, SDG, SRAM, Cyto Sport, and BMXpros.com.

Brandon Meadows has always raced well at the Roseville track and this past weekend was one of his best race weekends of 2007. Making all 4 Pro Main events he entered, Brandon was just off the Podium in AA Pro both days, due to some crashes, but a 5th and 6th in AA are very respectful. Brandon finished 2nd in Pro Open as well as 7th, Brandon's Sponsors include Intense BMX, Socko Energy Drinks, SINZ Racing, THE Products, Fly Racing, Shimano, Power Bar, Intense Tire Systems, Cyto Sport, OGIO, Thomson Seat Posts, and BMXpros.com

Joey Bradford had one of the best weekends of his young Pro Career. On Saturday, Joey raced the stacked A Pro Class and did not lose one lap all day. Winning all 3 main events shoes his consistency. On Sunday, Joey added Pro Open to his race activities for the day, and it was a great choice. Joey once again won all 3 A Pro main events and carried the momentum to Pro Open, where he hole shotted the main event and took the win. Joey's Sponsors include GT Bicycles, Fly Racing, Oakley, Bombshell, THE Products, Sun Ringle, Kenda, SDG, FSA, Sponsorhouse, Powerbar, Cyto Sport, Circle E, SRAM, OGIO, Sirius Satellite Radio, JoeyBradford.com, and BMXpros.com

BMX Race Report
NBL Easter Classic Orlando, Florida

Round 6 of the NBL/UCI 2007 Pro Series tour headed back to one of the biggest and longest NBL tracks on the circuit, Orlando, Florida. The Orlando track has been around on the NBL National circuit just about as long as there has been the NBL and it has quite the history for some great racing. The 2007 Race held up to the past with some increasable racing and some action that will go down in history, with Kyle Bennett winning the Pro Elite Main on Day 1 just one week after returning to the Pro tour after major Knee Surgery! Kyle and his Free Agent teammate Cristian Becerine had a great weekend in Orlando. Here is how they both finished up.

Kyle Bennett raced the NBL Pro series last weekend for the 1st time in 5 months and made a huge statement with a 2nd place finish in Elite men. This weekend Kyle said he was feeling better and ready to have fun and did just that with a triumphant win in the UCI Elite Class on Saturday. With one of the largest international fields on US soil in a long time, Kyle easily won the main event from start to finish. Kyle's determination and help from his new training program from www.bmxtraining.com . Kyle came back on Sunday and finished 3rd, giving him 3 great scores in just 2 short weekends of racing, setting him up for a shot at the NBL #1 Pro plate! Kyle heads off to Spain this weekend for the 1st round of the UCI Supercross series. Kyle's Sponsors include: Free Agent, Fly Racing, Bombshell Forks, UGP Products, Kenda, ODI, Sun Ringle, Shimano, Powerbar, Cyto Sport, ORP, Thomson Seat Posts, and BMXpros.com.

Cristian Becerine went into Orlando with a huge points lead in both the NBL Pro Series and the halfway check point series the NBL had put up. This series consists of the best 7 of the Elite Races to date and the series ended on Saturday. Cristian missed out on the Elite Main even on Saturday but still had a large enough lead to win the NBL Series checkpoint and take the big cash home. On Sunday, Cristian was back in the main event and finished 4th overall. Cristian heads off to Spain this week for the first UCI Supercross event of the 2007 season. Cristian's Sponsors include: Free Agent, Fly Racing, Sinz Racing Products, Kenda, THE Products, ODI, Sun Ringle, Shimano, Powerbar, Cyto Sport, OGIO, Oakley, Thomson Seat Posts, and BMXpros.com

Randy Stumpfhauser went into Orlando with a shot at taking a top 3 spot in the checkpoint series and when the day was done, he did just that, finishing 3rd in the series. The rest of Randy weekend was not up to his usual performance, but he looks to turn things around at the UCI Supercross event. Randy's sponsors include GT Bicycles, Kenda, ODI, Tangent, Sun Rims, Bombshell, Fly Racing, SINZ Products, Powerbar, CTI Knee Braces, OGIO, SDG, SRAM, Easton, Cyto Sport, and BMXpros.com.

BMX Race Report
NBL Gator Nationals Sarasota, Florida

Round 5 of the 2007 NBL/UCI Pro Series tour took place this past weekend in Tampa, Florida at the Sarasota BMX race track. One of the oldest, most used tracks on the NBL Pro tour, the Sarasota track is one of the best in BMX. The weather was great for racing and the huge international field in attendance made for some great racing. With 3 important weekends of BMX racing taking place for the UCI World and Continental rankings, the Double A Marketing Pros in attendance were ready to race and wound up once again with impressive results. Here are how they finished up in the main events.

Cristian Becerine has been on a hot streak of great results and wins up to Phoenix, where instead, he did a lot of crashing. Leave it to one of the top Pros in BMX to come back stronger than ever and take home another huge win. Cristian did just that on Sunday, as he holeshotted and lead the entire lap of the Elite Men's main event. Cristian also finished an impressive 4th in Elite Men on Saturday. Cristian now has a huge lead in the NBL Pro Title points chase and looks to add his first NBL Pro title to his impressive resume. . Cristian's Sponsors include: Free Agent, Fly Racing, Sinz Racing Products, Kenda, THE Products, ODI, Sun Ringle, Shimano, Powerbar, Cyto Sport, OGIO, Oakley, Thomson Seat Posts, and BMXpros.com.

Kyle Bennett made his return to the NBL Pro National Series this past weekend after his knee surgery at the end of last season. Kyle has always been a strong racer, but to come back from such a big injury and be at the top of the Elite Class is almost impossible. Almost, but not for Kyle as he made a huge statement to the entire class on Saturday as he convincingly took a huge win in the Pro Open Class main event. On Sunday, Kyle backed up his win with another huge result - 2nd in Elite Men's, just behind Cristian. Kyle looks to jump right back into the swing of things and be his old self. We sure are glad to see Kyle back at the track and on top of the podium! Kyle's Sponsors include: Free Agent, Fly Racing, Bombshell Forks, UGP Products, Kenda, ODI, Sun Ringle, Shimano, Powerbar, Cyto Sport, ORP, Thomson Seat Posts, and BMXpros.com.

Randy Stumpfhauser was red hot in Phoenix just last week and he looked to carry his momentum into Tampa. With what was one of the toughest Elite Men's classes at the 2007 UCI series to date, Randy easily made the main event both days. On Saturday, Randy would finish 5th in the Elite main event. On Sunday, Randy looked for a better finish and did so with a 4th overall. Randy was a bit disappointed as he was looking for another win in the NBL series, but he will get his change again next weekend in Orlando.  Randy's sponsors include GT Bicycles, Kenda, ODI, Tangent, Sun Rims, Bombshell, Fly Racing, SINZ Products, Powerbar, CTI Knee Braces, OGIO, SDG, SRAM, Easton, Cyto Sport, and BMXpros.com.

Joey Bradford had a small crash at the ABA Phoenix national last Sunday and it was a nagging injury that he dealt with all week. Joey came to Florida with one thing on mind and that was to win the Junior Elite Men's class on Saturday. With the valuable UCI points on the line, Joey pushed through his pain and raced. It was no easy task as some of the worlds top Junior Elite racers were in attendance, but Joey walked away with another win in the Junior Elite Class on Saturday. This makes a perfect season for Joey in the NBL / UCI Junior Elite Class with 5 wins and he looks forward to getting his 6th next weekend at the next round of the NBL UCI series in Orlando, FloridaJoey's Sponsors include GT Bicycles, Fly Racing, Oakley, Bombshell, THE Products, Sun Ringle, Kenda, SDG, FSA, Sponsorhouse, ODI, Powerbar, Cyto Sport, Circle E, SRAM, Avid, OGIO, Sirius Satellite Radio, JoeyBradford.com, and BMXpros.com.

NBL/UCI Gator Nationals

GT BMX Race Team in Florida
04.01.07 -- Sarasota, FL,
Attendance: 11,050

GT PARTICIPANTS:

Randy Stumpfhauser:
Day One: Elite Men: 5th
Day Two: Elite Men: 4th

Mike Day:
Day One: Elite Men: DNQ
Elite Open: 6th (semi)
Day Two: Elite Men: DNQ
Elite Open: DNQ

Joey Bradford:
Day One: Elite Jr. Men: 1st
Day Two: Elite Jr. Men: DNE

Eric Rupe:
Day One: Elite Masters: 2nd
Masters Open: 4th
Day Two: Elite Masters: 5th
Masters Open: 2nd

Randy came to Florida this weekend having just smoked everyone in Elite Men at the last event. He was on fire both days in the heat races and looked to be a sure thing for the win again. In the Elite final on Saturday, he had a good gate start, but not as good as the Warlock, Warwick Stevenson (Kuwahara). Randy got a bit pinched down the first straight and found himself in mid pack through the first turn. With the NBL format, the Elite riders only race one time for the money in the finals. In this case that format didn’t work in Randy’s favor as he ended up fifth. Sunday would be better, but only by a little bit. He made the final with wins in the heat races and a win in the semi final. ANOTHER outside lane in the main would make it HARD for him to get to the first turn ahead of the rest of the field. He got out of the gate okay and had good pull down the front straight. As the pack entered the first turn, he was stuck on the outside and had no place to go and was left high and dry. He came out of the turn in fourth and that’s where he stayed for the rest of the lap. A solid fourth place in the books and his weekend was now finished. Good representation for GT and the Stump Dawg!

Mike Day may have had one of the most “off weekends” in his pro career. He rode well in practice and looked fast as usual. Unfortunately, if he had any luck at all in the heat races, it was all “bad luck”. He was pushed off the track a few times and he even flipped over the gate once… like I said, it was all bad luck. Try as he did, it just wasn’t meant to be this weekend. Needless to say, Mike is still one of the most popular riders at the races and spent much of the weekend signing autographs and having his picture taken. Look for him to light the track up next weekend as he’ll show off his mad skill at the NBL Easter Classic in Orlando, FL.

Joey Bradford has really been on a terror in the Jr Men’s class for ’07. This weekend in Sarasota, FL would be no different. He blazed through the heat races and looked like a lock for the win in the main event. Just like predicted, he SMOKED out of the gate and killed em to the first turn. As the race went on, he pulled away even farther. He ended up winning by about five bike lengths for his seventh win of the year. Unfortunately he had to pull out for Sunday as the injury he got from the weekend before, flared up and made it nearly impossible for him to ride. Lucky for the rest of the class, as now someone else had a chance to win. Joey will be back on the bike soon as he should recover quickly.

Big Daddy Rupe came to Sarasota, FL to race the NBL Gator Nationals for the fifteenth time in his 30 year pro career. The first time was way back in 1981. He took the Elite Men’s win at this track back in 1984 when he rode for Mongoose. He’s had many wins here over the years and in 2007, he was looking for a few more. He was riding fast enough and well enough to do it, but it just wasn’t meant to be this time. He had some great starts in the Elite Masters and Masters Open main events both days, but just couldn’t quite get to the front of the pack. He took a solid second in Saturdays’ Masters main and was actually winning the Open main on Sunday until he got passed by Jason Carnes (Redline) heading into the last turn. All in all, Eric had a good weekend as he did well for the over forty BMX crowd and GT Bicycles.

See Randy Stumpfhauser, Mike Day, Joey Bradford and GT next, at the NBL/UCI Easter Classic in Orlando, FL on April 7-8, 2007.

-- JoeyBradford.com Race Report March 31-April 1
This past weekend the team was spread out all over the country. The only one not racing was Jimmy Monroe who I hear was at the local track training for the Bakersfield National.
Our ringleader JoeyB was in Sarasoto Fla for the UCI event on Saturday where Joey took home another win in Jr. Elite making it 5 for 5 in the North America series and now has a commanding lead in both UCI and NBL Jr. Elite classes. Joey didnt race on Sunday an non UCI event because of slight injury suffered in Phoenix making it painful to pedal. He will be ready to go next weekend in Orlando Fla for UCI round 6.
Lil Ant and Robbie Merced made their way down to DeSoto Tx. Both looking for track time with their local tracks still closed down due to weather.
Lil Ant had another solid weekend with two seconds in very difficult 12 expert class and two thirds in Crusier. Ant is getting things worked out and will be force the rest of the season.
Robbie is still making the age adjustment into the 8 Expert class and made his main in Open on Saturday.
The rest of the crew raced a NBL CA. State race in Madera. Looking to showcase our sponsor's too the more entry level riders the team came away with some great results.
Ricky Castro keeps getting the job done with another perfect weekend in the 6 year old class.
13 year old Brandon Tansey looked good with two seconds in Class and two seconds in Crusier.
Bubba Gonzales just getting his cast off his arm came away with two seconds in 8 Expert and 8 Crusier. Look for Bubba to be out front again real soon.

BMX Race Report

ABA Winter Nationals Phoenix, Arizona

Round 5 of the 2007 ABA Pro Series tour took place this past weekend in Phoenix, Arizona at the world famous Black Mountain BMX track. The Winter nationals at the Black Mountain track, quite different than in years past, is still one of the fastest and is one of the most anticipated events of the year. With rain looming over the Phoenix area on Thursday and Friday, it was a near disaster for the super fast track, but the Winter Nationals dodged a mudfest and the sun shined bright on the ABA come race time on Saturday. Here is how the guys finished up:

Randy Stumpfhauser was simply amazing at the Winter nationals. On Saturday, well, all we really need to say is that Randy won all 3 AA Pro Main events. Flat out faster than anyone else, Stumpy was able to dodge what he called "the track snakes" that were out in force, causing a ton of crashed and win AA Pro, not only on Saturday but on Sunday as well. Sunday was just like the day before with another overall win in AA Pro and another great ABA score. Look for Randy to continue on winning this weekend in Sarasota, Florida at the NBL UCI North American Round. Randy's sponsors include GT Bicycles, Kenda, ODI, Tangent, Sun Rims, Bombshell, Fly Racing, SINZ Products, Powerbar, CTI Knee Braces, OGIO, SDG, SRAM, Easton, Cyto Sport, and BMXpros.com.

Brandon Meadows impressed the Phoenix crowd with his impressive racing this weekend. On Saturday, after just missing out on the AA Pro main, he came back and smoked the entire Pro Open field with a huge win. On Sunday, Brandon came back and was ready for both main events. A crash in the 2nd main would hold Brandon to 4th overall for the day in AA Pro, but his riding was much more impressive than 4th. Brandon's Sponsors include Intense BMX, Socko Energy Drinks, SINZ Racing, THE Products, Fly Racing, Shimano, Power Bar, Intense Tire Systems, Cyto Sport, OGIO, Thomson Seat Posts, and BMXpros.com

Cristian Becerine was unable to miss the track snakes that Randy mentioned, as he made all 4 main events but had crashed in each of them. Looking like one of the few riders would give Randy a run for his money in the win, Cristian had extremely bad luck and was caught up in a slew of crashes. Cristian would leave Phoenix with a 7th and 8th in AA Pro and 2 8th in Pro Open, but he will be ready for next weekends NBL event. Cristian's Sponsors include: Free Agent, Fly Racing, Sinz Racing Products, Kenda, THE Products, ODI, Sun Ringle, Shimano, Powerbar, Cyto Sport, OGIO, Oakley, Thomson Seat Posts, and BMXpros.com

Joey Bradford was going extremely fast this past weekend and A pro was one of the biggest classes at the Winter nationals. After a rough week of being in Phoenix, Joey was ready to get on the track and race, and he did a great job of that. On Saturday, Joey was in the main event and finished up 3rd overall. On Sunday, Joey took it up a notch and was up for the overall win, but just missed out and would finish up 2nd overall. Joey's Sponsors include GT Bicycles, Fly Racing, Oakley, Bombshell, THE Products, Sun Ringle, Kenda, SDG, FSA, Sponsorhouse, ODI, Powerbar, Cyto Sport, Circle E, SRAM, Avid, OGIO, Sirius Satellite Radio, JoeyBradford.com, and BMXpros.com

Stumpy Wins BIG Both Days
03.26.07 -- Phoenix, AZ,
Attendance: 15,300
GT PARTICIPANTS:

Randy Stumpfhauser:
Day One: AA Pro: 1st
Day Two: AA Pro: 1st

Joey Bradford:
Day One: A Pro: 3rd
Day Two: A Pro: 2nd

Eric Rupe:
Day One: Vet Pro: DNQ
Pro Cru: 6th
Day Two: Vet Pro: 5th
Pro Cru: 7th

Randy Stumpfhauser was simply awesome the entire weekend! Not since the ABA Grand Nationals last November, has he dominated an event like he did this past weekend at the Winter Nationals. He was out front on almost every lap he rode. In the three main events on Saturday night, he killed it each time and took the overall with a 1-1-1 score. On Sunday, he looked just as fast, but had to work a bit harder in the mains. Going into the third and final AA Pro main, he was in a three way tie for the lead and would pretty much need to win it in order to take the overall. Win it he did and in one of the best pro races of the weekend too. The crowd was on it’s feet as he was out front with Redline’s Bubba Harris in tow. He would need to beat Bubba to take the overall and it wouldn’t be easy. The two of them turned in one of the fastest, if not the fastest laps of the weekend. Both riders rode flawlessly and without error as they pulled away from the rest of the field. Randy never pulled away from Bubba and Bubba could not catch Randy, yet they were tail to nose the entire lap. Stump came away with the well deserved victory to take the overall for the second day in a row. Not bad for being the only rider in the main over the age of 30.

Joey Bradford showed up in Phoenix for the Winter Nationals looking for his first A-Pro win of the season. He definitely had the speed to do it and looked as if he would. Going into the third round of the mains on Saturday, all he needed was third or better to take the overall. As “bad” luck would have it, just after he came out of the gate, his shoe came out of the pedal clip and he dropped from first or second to fifth or sixth. He got clipped back in and got back on the gas trying to move up in the pack. With a very narrow track, it was difficult to pass at all, much less get by three or four riders in one lap. He got back to fourth place by the finish line, but it would only be good enough for a third overall on the day. In Sunday’s first round of motos, he fell at the exit of the first corner while leading and got a nasty muscle bruise on his left side lower back. It would bother him all day up until the mains. In the first two rounds of the main events, he took convincing wins and was looking good for the overall win. All he needed was a solid second place to secure the win. He got a bit of a late gate in main three and found himself in fifth place as the pack came out of the first turn. He quickly got past two riders and was in third coming out of the second turn. If he could just make one more pass, he’d have the overall for the day. He was fast, smooth and mistake-free, but so were the two guys in front of him, so he’d have to settle for the third place. The day ended with Joey tied for the overall win with David Herman (Answer). The tie breaker goes to the rider that does best in the third main, which gave the win to Herman. All in all, still a great weekend of racing for Bradford. He’s learning more and more with every race and will be sitting pretty on top of the podium in no time.

Big Daddy Rupe came to Phoenix for the Winter Nationals looking for his first Vet Pro win of the year. He rode well in practice and looked strong in the motos. In Saturday’s Vet Pro semi final, he got an awful gate start and found himself in the back of the pack. With the narrow track, it was difficult to pass and Eric found himself having to make a move in the last turn in order to get the last transfer spot to get into the main event. He went for a dive move inside of that last turn, but was shut down with no room to pass and the race was pretty much over. He’d have to watch the mains from the side lines. On Sunday, He rode well all day and would make the mains this time. He had three good starts in those mains, but found himself getting boxed out down the front straight and in the first corner in all three mains. He ended the day with a disappointing fifth place and not much else to do but look forward to the next event and to doing better.

-- 3/26/07: Team JoeyBradford.com ABA Winter Nationals Race Report
- JB, Ant, Robbie and Jimmy all made their way to Phoenix this past weekend. The track was all about the first turn and I dont recall so many crashes down the first straight and first turn. Didnt help that the turn was slick by nature. Standing in the first turn I was picking up riders all weekend including Joey and Ant after leading into the turn.
- Joey was on point all weekend and showed to be the fastest A-Pro winning 3 of the 6 Mains. Both days had low points going into 3rd round only to have a slight problem to lose the overall getting a 3rd and 2nd.
- Ant showed all his hard work is paying off and was always one of the fastest dispite not being on the track and giving up alot of size in the hardest Am class in BMX.
Crusier went great with a 2ND and a big win on Sunday. Class didnt go as well with a bad gate on Saturday when caught next to a big unknown slingshoter. Sunday started much better with a good first straight from the outside only to slide out in the first turn trying to avoid getting blasted over the berm.
- Robbie just turned 8 and jumped in with 30+ riders who unlike him have had alot of track time lately. Robbie even jumped on his new crusier on Sunday with no practice and mixed it up. He ended up not making any mains but you could see that he is ready to start his training and mix it up with the big dogs in the class.
- Jimmy had to work on Saturday but made it for Sunday. Jimmy is getting stronger but can see with all the young guns in the class right now that he is going to start working hard on his spin.

- Anders last race in the states before going home ended well by making the A-Pro main on Sunday.

 JoeyBradford.Com Team - NBL National

03.17.07 -- Reedly, CA,

JoeyBradford.COM sent a small team to the NBL National in Reedly, California this past weekend. While this wasn’t a Pro Race, GT Bicycles and JB.COM were proud to have Top Pro Randy Stumpfhauser in attendance signing autographs, giving photo opportunities, handing out GT 2007 catalogs and stickers at the sharp looking JB.COM pit compound. Thanks Randy!

With the big ABA Phoenix National next weekend Joey and Jimmy Monroe skipped Reedly to help Supercamp with a BMX clinic at the Phoenix track. Lil’ Ant and Robbie Merced are training getting ready for Phoenix. Bubba Gonzales gets his cast off this week after hurting his elbow in Boulder and Dezi Green was playing his first T-Ball game which left only Brandon Tansey and Ricky Castro to get the job done for the team.

Ricky just keeps getting better with two more wins in the 6 year old class and a first and second in Open. Brandon is concentrating on Crusier only and a National plate in the NBL and came away with two thirds. In between racing they were handing out GT, FLY and Bombshell stickers.

It was another successful weekend and all of JB.COM Team would like to thank our sponsors: GT Bicycles, Fly Racing, Bombshell, Circle-E, LDC, THE, ABA Supercamp, Ogio, and Sponsorhouse.com.

BMX Race Report
NBL Lake Mead National, Boulder City, Nevada

Round 4 of the 2007 NBL Elite Points series was held this past weekend in Boulder City, Nevada. The Nellis BMX Track is one of, if not the best BMX track in the NBL track list and this event had the making of a history making weekend: an all star International field of the world best Men's and Women's Pros and amateurs, UCI and NBL Pro points, history making National attendance for an NBL West Coast National, and perfect race weather. For the Double A Marketing riders, they made history as well, as they won all of the Elite Junior and Elite Men classes this weekend, making it a clean sweep for both Joey Bradford and Cristian Becerine. The other Double A Marketing riders in attendance also had some impressive results. Here is how the guys finished up:
Cristian Becerine has won at least one day of the Elite Men's Pro class at the last 3 national events and this weekend, he was unstoppable, taking home the win both days in Elite Men's action. At what may have been the most stacked Pro class in years, Cristian took the win both days from the gate to the finish line unchallenged. Cristian now holds the lead in both the NBL and ABA pro points and looks to be on his way to winning his first year end National #1 Pro title. Cristian's Sponsors include: Free Agent, Fly Racing, Sinz Racing Products, Kenda, THE Products, ODI, Sun Ringle, Shimano, Powerbar, Cyto Sport, OGIO, Oakley, Thomson Seat Posts, and BMXpros.com

Joey Bradford was just as impressive in the Junior Men's class as he too took home wire to wire wins both days this weekend. Joey also has his NBL team debut and they looked great along the front row of teams with there GT tent proudly set up and information available about all of the teams sponsors. This kid just does it all and does it all very well! Joey’s sponsors include GT Bicycles, Fly Racing, Oakley, Bombshell, THE Products, Sun Ringle, Kenda, SDG, FSA, Sponsorhouse, ODI, Powerbar, Cyto Sport, Circle E, SRAM, Avid, OGIO, Sirius, joeybradford.com, and BMXpros.com

Brandon Meadows made a huge statement at the Nellis event, as he was in the Elite Men's Pro main event both days, aboard his all new Intense Podium frame. After recovering from a broken femur suffered last year, Brandon has once again persevered and come back stronger than ever. Making the main event in the Elite men's class is a huge accomplishment for any pro and for a Pro coming back from such a huge injury, its just plain amazing. We are glad to see Brandon getting back to his top form and the 6th and 7th place finishes this weekend are a huge payoff for the hard work on his part. Brandon's Sponsors include Intense BMX, Socko Energy Drinks, SINZ Racing, THE Products, Fly Racing, Shimano, Power Bar, Intense Tire Systems, Cyto Sport, OGIO, Thomson Seat Posts, and BMXpros.com

Randy Stumpfhauser looked to be one of the few pros who may have been able to put a stop to Cristian's winning streak, as on Saturday, he was untouchable and won every lap on the track all the way up to the main event. As the gate dropped for the main, Randy was just a bit off of Cristian and would win up 5th for the day. On Sunday, Randy would have to watch the main event from the sidelines after unclipping out of the gate in the semi. Randy is a true pro and congratulated Cristian on his win. Look for Randy to be back in the mix for the Pro win in a few weeks at the ABA Winter Nationals. Randy's sponsors include GT Bicycles, Kenda, ODI, Tangent, Sun Rims, Bombshell, Fly Racing, SINZ Products, Powerbar, CTI Knee Braces, OGIO, SDG, SRAM, Easton, Cyto Sport, and BMXpros.com.

Double A Marketing proudly represents Cristian Becerine, Kyle Bennett, Joey Bradford, Dale Holmes, Brandon Meadows, and Randy Stumpfhauser. For more information on any of the riders or on Double A Marketing, please e-mail PeteD@BMXpros.com or visit BMXPros.com

-- 2/17/07: ABA Sooner Nationals

Mike Day scores his first AA Pro win on GT
02.05.07 -- Guthrie, Oklahoma,
Attendance: 11,200
GT PARTICIPANTS:

Randy Stumpfhauser:
Day One: AA Pro: 8th
Day Two: AA Pro: 8th

Mike Day:
Day One: AA Pro: 6th
Pro Open: 1st
Day Two: AA Pro: 1st
Pro Open: 1st

Joey Bradford:
Day One: A Pro: 3rd
Day Two: A Pro: 4th

Eric Rupe:
Day One: Vet Pro: 4th
Day Two: Vet Pro: 5th

Randy Stumpfhauser started off the Sooner Nationals weekend on a sour note, as his bike and bags didn’t show up at the airport baggage claim on Friday. What that meant was no Friday practice for the ABA’s #2 Pro for 2006. With a technical and tricky track, like the Guthrie one, it would be a practice he did not want to miss. He did his best to get all he could out of the Saturday morning practice and made the AA Pro main event both days. In the three mains each day, he had some bad luck and a few bad laps (very unusual for Stumpy, as he is one of the most consistent pro’s of all time) and ended up with the snowman in AA Pro both days (8th). Not a good showing by most standards, but just making the AA Pro mains these days is no easy task. Look for Stumpy to do MUCH better at the next event.

Mike Day came to Guthrie to show that his performance in Reno last month was NOT a sign of things to come for him in 2007. As usual, he was amazing in the heat races and rode with incredible speed and skill. He ended up winning Pro Open both days and AA Pro on Sunday. If it wasn’t for a crash in the second AA Pro main on Saturday, he would have most likely won that day too. Oh well, that’s what makes racing so exciting… you just never know what is gonna happen.

Big Daddy Rupe came to Oklahoma looking for his first ABA Vet Pro win of the year. Last year at this event, he handled the burley pro section, won Vet Pro on Sunday and was hoping for a repeat performance. As fate would have it, things didn’t turn out as well as last year as a fourth and a fifth were all he could muster. For the record, he tied for third on Saturday, yet ended up fourth and tied for third on Sunday, yet ended up fifth. Kinda weird how the points work out some times, huh? At 43 years young, look for Big Daddy to improve as the season progresses.

This was Joey Bradford’s second weekend racing as a BMX Pro and he was looking for his first win. He rode strong, smooth and fast in the heat races both Saturday and Sunday and made the A-Pro mains both days. Saturday’s chance at the win slipped away in one of the three mains with one little mistake and he had to settle for the third overall. On Sunday, he had a shot at the win going into the third round of the mains. All he had to do was finish ahead of David Herman (Answer) and the win would be all his. Not an easy task, but Joey knew he could do it. Herman got the hole shot with Joey in tow. He followed David around the track and went for the move in the last turn. A bit too far on the inside of the last turn and Bradford found himself on the ground. He gets an “A” for effort, as he was going for the win, but he came up just a little short. He’s dialing in his skills as a “Pro” and will be racking up the wins in no time.

See Randy Stumpfhauser, Mike Day, Joey Bradford, Eric Rupe and GT next, at the NBL Boulder City Nationals in Boulder City, NV on February 24-25, 2007.

The GT BMX Team is proud to be sponsored by:
Kenda, Sun Rims, Fly Racing, OGIO, X Balm, SDG, SRAM, RSP Products, Easton and Pearl Izumi.

-- 2/5/07: BMX Race Report - ABA Sooner Nationals Guthrie

Round 3 of the 2007 ABA Pro race events took place this past weekend in Guthrie, Oklahoma at the Lazy E Arena. While the arena is better known for some big time Pro Rodeos, it seemed like instead of a Pro BMX race, there was a Rodeo going on this weekend as a slew of riders took big time tumbles and crashes. The ABA build a great track for the riders and there was some great race action all weekend long. The Double A Marketing riders were there in full force and had some impressive results. Here is how the guys finished up:

Cristian Becerine
was once again one of the top Pros at theevent. Focusing on AA Pro, Cristian had a impressive showing as usual throughout the day on Saturday, but once the main events started, he really shinned. Cristian would take another home another AA win with his impressive power and skills. On Sunday, Cristian looked to repeat his increasable performance from the day before, but fell just a bit short, finishing 3rd. Cristian has been one of the top guys for 2007 and looks to continue his wining ways all season long. Cristian's Sponsors include: Free Agent, Answer, Kenda, THE Products, ODI, Sun Ringle, Shimano, Powerbar, Cyto Sport, OGIO, Oakley, Thomson Seat Posts, and BMXpros.com

Randy Stumpfhauser has also focused on AA only andhas also been very impressive so far in 2007. While Randy has been atop the Pro class most of the season, this weekend he was off just a bit. Randy was in the AA main event both days, but finished up 8th both days. Still a tough feat to make the AA main, Randy was not happy with his results and will be ready to battle for the win in a few weeks at the next ABA National event in Florida.  Randy's sponsors include GT Bicycles, Kenda, ODI, Tangent, Sun Rims, Bombshell, Fly Racing, SINZ Products, Powerbar, CTI Knee Braces, OGIO, SDG, SRAM, Easton, Cyto Sport, and BMXpros.com.

Brandon Meadows gave his fans something to cheeraboutas he made the Pro Open main event on Sunday. Brandon looked better and better on the track as the weekend progressed, and in the main event on Sunday afternoon, Brandon just missed making a appearance on the Podium, as he would finish up 4th overall. Brandon looks forward to his next event to get a shot at the Elite Pro win. Brandon's Sponsors include Intense BMX, Socko Energy Drinks, SINZ Racing, THE Products, Fly Racing, Shimano, Power Bar, Intense Tire Systems, Cyto Sport, OGIO, Thomson Seat Posts, and BMXpros.com

Joey Bradford made the trip to Oklahoma and just kept finding problems along the way. On Friday, upon arrival, his luggage didn't make it there with him, so he missed out on practice on Friday. Things took a turn for the better on Saturday, as he easily made it to the A Pro main event. Joey finished up 3rd overall. On Sunday, it was back to tough time, as after wining the 1st of the 3 main events and placing 2nd in the 2nd round, a crash would keep Joey from taking home the win and event a spot on the podium, as he finished up 4th overall. Joey’s sponsors include GT Bicycles, Fly Racing, Oakley, Bombshell, THE Products, Sun Ringle, Kenda, SDG, FSA, Sponsorhouse, ODI, Powerbar, Cyto Sport, Circle E, SRAM, Avid, OGIO, Sirius, joeybradford.com, and BMXpros.com

Kyle Bennett was in attendance and rode the track during the Friday practice. Kyle has had a quick recovery from his knee reconstructive surgery he had in December and looks to be back in the AA mix  soon. Kyle is looking at the NBL national event in Boulder City, NV to hopefully be his return to the BMX National Tour. Kyle's sponsors include Free Agent, KHS, Fly Racing, Bombshell F1 Fork, Sun Rims, Shimano, UGP, Kenda, Thomson, S & M bars, ODI, ORP, Powerbar, Cyto Sport, and BMXpros.com.
Double A Marketing proudly represents Cristian Becerine, Kyle Bennett, Joey Bradford, Dale Holmes, Brandon Meadows, and Randy Stumpfhauser. Look for new riders to be added on for 2007. BMX Race Report
NBL RM59 Tropical National Barceloneta, Puerto Rico

Cristian Becerine wins 3 out of 4 Elite Pro main events in Paradise!

Round 3 of the 2007 NBL Pro series was held this past weekend, January 27-28, in Barceloneta, Puerto Rico. For the 2nd time, the city of Barceloneta has put on one great NBL full bore national event with a city wide race promotion and organizing a huge event not only for BMX racers, but also for Mountain Biking and road racing. The event stared off as an event that was known as the RM59 tropical challenge. Pro Racer Robbie Miranda, who the event is named after, has helped promote BMX racing in Puerto Rico and this race is a tribute to his efforts and his Puerto Rican background. The Pros were excited to attend such an event as it is know for its great hospitality, an excellent track, and the warm weather. Cristian Becerine was the lone Double A Marketing Pro to make the trip down, but he was more than enough, as Cristian was the top Pro at the event.

On arrival, the newly renovated track was liked by all the Pros and Cristian seemed to really like the changes. It was very apparent as on Saturday, Cristian was unstoppable in the main events, as he won both the Elite Pro Class and the Elite Pro Open class. On Sunday, Cristian once again was the winner in Elite Open and this time has to settle for a 2nd in Elite Pro. Cristian gave the Free Agent World Team fans some great results and looks forward to doing it again this weekend at the ABA national in Guthrie, Oklahoma.

-- 1/10/07: ABA Silver Dollar Nationals

Mike Day on GT!!
01.08.07 -- Reno, NV
Attendance: 14,500

GT PARTICIPANTS:
Randy Stumpfhauser:

Day One: AA Pro: 8th
Day Two: AA Pro: 2nd

Mike Day:
Day One: AA Pro: 6th
Pro Open: 5th
Day Two: AA Pro: 5th (semi)
Pro Open: 3rd

Joey Bradford:
Day One: A Pro: 5th (semi)
Day Two: A Pro: 2nd

Eric Rupe:
Day One: Vet Pro: 5th
Day Two: Vet Pro: 5th

After a disappointing showing at the last event, Randy Stumpfhauser was eager to make amends this weekend at the ABA Silver Dollar Nationals. He was as fast and as smooth as always and made the AA Pro main both days. We’re not sure what happened on Saturday, but he must have been under the impression that HIGH points would take the overall win instead of LOW points, as he finished the three mains with a whopping 24 points. A brief
team meeting before Sundays mains fixed all that, as he had low points going into the third round of the three AA Pro mains. He took a strong third in that one which was good enough for second overall for the day. Not a bad way to end the weekend. Good job Stump!
This weekend marked the GT BMX Race Team debut of Mikey Day. “We are very excited to have Mike on the team and look forward to watching his impressive skills around the race track as he now does it on a GT bike” said BMX manager Eric Rupe. As always, Mike was smoking fast and THE smoothest and most stylish guy on the track. He made the AA Pro and Pro Open mains on Saturday, but rode a little off pace from his usual self. Sunday was a bit of a bummer as he finished 5th in AA Pro semi and had to sit out the main event. He did make the Pro Open main and turned in a good lap as he finished in a podium earning third place spot. All in all, it was a good showing for his first ride in the GT colors. Welcome to the team Mike!
Big Daddy Eric Rupe made his Team GT racing debut in the ABA this past weekend. He was riding well during qualifying as he won a few heat races and was in the top three in all the others. During the mains on both Saturday and Sunday he ran into some really bad luck as he seemed to keep picking the wrong lines on the track. If he went left, he should have gone right and if he zigged, he should have zagged. It was one of those kinds of weekends for the main events. If there was one main event highlight, it was in the second main on Saturday. He got a great start and rode really strong and steady missing the win at the line by only two or three inches. All in all, he rode well and is off to a good start in the new GT colors.
This was a big weekend for Joey Bradford as he officially made his BMX Pro debut. He rode well both days in the motos and ¼ finals and looked to be a hopeful for the overall win. In the semi on Saturday he had a bobble on the first straight and fell back to fifth spot. With a stacked semi, it was nearly impossible to make up the ground, though he nearly got the fourth place spot at the line, but not quite. Sunday was better as he made the main and finished with an impressive second place overall. A good start to what is sure to be a great Pro BMX career.

See Randy Stumpfhauser, Mike Day, Joey Bradford, Eric Rupe and GT next, at the ABA Sooner Nationals in Guthrie, OK on February 3-4, 2007.

The GT BMX Team is proud to be sponsored by:

Kenda, Sun Rims, Fly Racing, OGIO, X Balm, SDG, SRAM, RSP Products, Easton and Pearl Izumi.

-- 1/9/07: Team JoeyBradford.com's first race
Team JoeyBradfordDOTcom made the trip to cold and snowy Reno, NV this past weekend, January 6-7. With the ABA really outdoing themselves for the event and all of the Team riders in attendance it was sure to be a great weekend. The new GT Bicycles and Fly gear stood out from everyone else on and off the track and the riders finished off the weekend strong. The families all pitched in to help each other out and showed a true TEAM effort while at the same time having a blast.

Results:
- Joey Bradford was looking very good in his ABA A Pro debut. After a couple runs on Saturday they decided to lower the gear and it seemed to help, but a ball up in the first turn in Saturdays semi caused him to place 5th and not qualify onto the main. Sunday rolled around and Bradford decided to relax a little more and just race his race and the results were much better winning his semi and placing 2nd overall after the three main format.
- Jimmy Monroe, the A Pro on JoeyBradford.com was looking good in moto's but some bad racing luck kept him from advancing onto the quarters. Look for Jimmy to be in some of the mains this year with all of his hard work.
- Team MVP of the weekend was seven year old Bubba Gonzales who won every single lap all weekend including the Friday Night Pre-Race. Bubba finished off the weekend with six main event wins with a total of twenty-eight riders in his class. Way to go Bubba!
- Team Captain twelve year old Brandon Tansey was also strong for the team with two wins Friday night and a third place finish both Saturday and Sunday.
- Little four year old Dezi Green showed he can run with the "Big Boys" in the five and under class with two fourths and a sixth.
- New Expert rider seven year old Robbie Merced really improved each race with finishing up with a fifth and sixth Friday night and making a very hard Seven Expert main event on Sunday placing seventh. Robbie did very well with the amount of experience he has.
- Last but not least is my little buddy six year old Rick Castro who finished with a third and sixth on Friday. With a little more coaching Ricky will be running up front all year.

The JoeyBradfordDOTcom Team is proud and thankful to be sponsored by:
GT Bicycles, Fly Racing, Bombshell, Circle-E, LDC, THE, ABA Supercamp, Ogio, and Sponsorhouse.com.

Special thanks to my Assistant Team Manager little Anthony Derosa.

--NBL Christmas Classic
Big Daddy Eric Rupe Joins GT BMX Race Team

12.30.06 -- Columbus, Ohio,
Attendance: 13,000
GT PARTICIPANTS:

Randy Stumpfhauser:
Day One: Elite Men: 5th
Elite Open: 6th
Day Two: Elite Men: 6th (semi)

Joey Bradford:
Day One: Jr. Men: 1st
Day Two: Jr. Men: 1st
Elite Open: 4th

Eric Rupe:
Day One: Elite Masters: 2nd
Day Two: Elite Masters: 3rd
Masters Open: 1st

Randy Stumpfhauser showed up in Ohio for the NBL Christmas Classic with a hot hand after winning the ABA Grands last month! He was blazin’ fast in the motos, quarters and semi’s and was a solid pick to win the main on Saturday. He had a slightly late gate start in the main and then got squeezed out and had to ride the race in mid pack. With a tricky pro section on straight two, he was unable to make up much ground and ended the race in 5th. He had about the same luck in the Elite Open main AND the Elite semi final on Sunday. A sixth place finish in that one put him on the sidelines for the main event.
Big Daddy Eric Rupe made his Team GT racing debut this week and had a few good finishes to show for it. He got the hole shot in Saturday’s Elite Masters main, but made a mistake on the third straight and ended up getting passed by eventual race winner Jason Carnes (Redline). In Sundays main it would be a bit closer going into the first turn, as Rupe and Carnes bumped a bit. Carnes had a slight edge and took over the lead. Rupe bobbled again on the third straight, this time nearly having his hand come off the grip. By the time he recovered he was in third and eventually ended up there. In the Masters Open main event, he nailed a great start and rode a strong lap. As he let up a bit on the last straight to enjoy winning the last race of 2006, he nearly got passed at the line by a hard charging Domingos Lamogglia (Brazil). Not quite though as Rupe took the win. It was a job well done in his GT BMX Race Team debut.
Young Joey Bradford was straight killin’ them in Jr. Men this week. He won the main event each day in a route. This kid has really been stepping it up lately. On Sunday he tried his hand in the Elite Open class. With nearly 40 men signed up, it wouldn’t be easy getting to the finals. Well as it turned out, Joey rode fast, smart and strong enough to be in the main event. If he hadn’t wheelied half way to the first jump, he just might have been leading going into the first turn. He did a little elbowin’ and rubbin’ going into turn one and came out fourth. He rode hard and fast and ended up with that spot. Pretty darn good for a 17 year old new comer. Look for JB to be racing “full status pro” really soon.

See Randy Stumpfhauser, Joey Bradford, Eric Rupe and GT next, at the ABA Silver Dollar Nationals in Reno, NV on January 3-4, 2007.

The GT BMX Team is proud to be sponsored by:
